New for 2012! Skype Lessons

Skype Lessons

Are you looking for a Classical Guitar teacher, but can't find one in your area?

Would you like to study with a professional Classical player/teacher from the comfort of your own computer?

Wherever you are in the world I am now able to offer Classical guitar lessons using Skype technology. (Skype is free to download and use. Download Skype here.)

Individual lessons tailored specifically for YOU.

In your lessons we can work on:

  • General technique for Left and Right hands.
  • Repertoire, old and new.
  • Building stamina and endurance.
  • Increasing precision and building up speed.
  • Posture - from fingertips to whole body.
  • Music / Guitar theory - understanding is the key to convincing performance.
  • Performance tips - stage presence, beating nerves etc.
  • Problem solving - defeat the problems that currently cause mistakes.
  • Arranging tunes for guitar - make guitar versions of your favourite songs.
  • Or any other issue you may wish to (or I think you should) focus on  :)

How does it work?
  1. You let me know a bit about your playing history, what music you want to work on, how you feel your playing needs improving, and what you want to achieve in the short to mid term.  This gives us a good place to start from.  We can connect via Skype for a quick chat to test the connection and sound quality.
  2. If we both then agree to proceed, we arrange a time that suits us both for the first lesson. I live in Somerset, England – see global time zones here.
  3. After each lesson I will send you an email summing up the main points of the lesson, including good aspects of your playing, areas to focus on for improvement, things to practice etc. We can exchange scores, notes etc by email before, during or after the lesson as necessary.
  4. You do the practice, and watch your playing improve!

What will I need?

You will need:
a guitar, the ability to tune the guitar (or an electronic tuner), a broadband connection, webcam and skype account, a pencil, enthusiasm and the willingness to put in a little work between lessons. A printer / scanner would also be useful.

What does it cost?
  • The cost is £20 for 30 mins, £25 for 45 mins, or £30 for one hour. (Currency converter click here)
  • Payment must be made in advance, soon after booking the time slot, and can be made through paypal or bank transfer.
  • If you do not keep the appointment, or do not give 24 hours notice for cancelling a lesson you may lose the fee.
  • If I should have to cancel a lesson for any reason we can arrange either a refund or another time for the lesson.

If you are interested or if you have any questions please get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
